RMS Imperador
This was the first of Imperium class ocean liners. They were the biggest and the most luxurious liners in the world, with 57,000 GTR and 288.26m/982.24ft. They were planned in 1912 to get in the great race of Ocean Liners to America. It was a dream of one of our workers. They were built by Red Anchor Shipyards & C.O. in 1913, delivered one year after, with fast working. But fast doesn't mean poor. It was lovely crafted. One of the best liners of her time.
On 1915, she was requested by the Brazillian government to serve as a troopship on the war, togheter with her sistership: RMS Imperatriz. Both ships survived the war.
After that, she was again an Ocean Liner. On the Lauching day of her sistership, RMS Princess, at 06/04/1919 ,she was at the shipyard due to a collision with rocks near Ilhabela, Brazillian coast, during a worldwide voyage.
On 1920 she was back in service.
On 1922 she has colided with her sistership, Princess, during a return to Southampton in NYC. 56 people died. Both ships had to get to the shipyard.
On 1924 - 1925, both ships got out if the shipyard and were able to return to service.
She had a glorious carrer, she did more than 2000 crossings over the Atlantic Ocean, and more than 200 on the Pacific Ocean, but unfortunally she had to be scrapped on 1940, due to several problems, including problems on motors, that were too expensive to repair.
